The Course

International headlines recently reported the gross ethical failures and resulting fall of Enron, Worldcom, and Bernie Madoff. This seminar identifies, discusses, and dissects the standards of professional behaviour in the Ethiopian context for leaders. After a brief survey of the key ethical terms, values, and the standards of ethics in Western law, medicine, and finance, ethics in the Ethiopian culture will be discussed. Each student will create a code of ethics for himself that will serve him in his current role and his anticipated (future) leadership role. This personal code of ethics will reflect the expectations of his cultural context, his spiritual commitment, and his personal dedication to being a leader and pace-setter in Ethiopia’s future.
